Buffet E11 Bb Clarinet
It's always a really interesting mental exercise to examine work you've done in the past -- especially when it's a been a good while since you have last seen a horn. I re-padded this clarinet back in 2016 and (amazingly) the materials I selected have held up remarkably well for 2 full seasons of marching / concert band with 0 maintenance.
Aside from a few boogers hidden in the works, a bit of clean-up and a refresh of the lubricants in the mechanism had her going again fairly quickly. The cringe factor involved with inspecting my old work is getting smaller, so I'm either becoming more confident in my ability or my standards have dropped off in a major way (lol).
Loree Royal -- Tone Hole Inserts
No set of decent repair pictures would be complete without posting up a nearly 10 grand oboe having some tone holes drilled out for inserts. Luckily, everything went smooth and the inserts are holding quite well.
Fox 800 -- Philly D Add-On Project
I've done a lot of Philly D mods for Lorees and for the most part, there's a ton of room to work for adding on the key components between the Low C pad and the 3rd Finger D key. This Fox has everything in super close proximity which made it a bit of a challenge to figure out just where to braze things.
I wound up moving the adjusting screw well to around the 6 o'clock mark (as you're looking towards the bell) and going with a much smaller / shorter touch tab to keep it from colliding with the high C# adjustment bar.
It's kind of a weird looking arrangement to me but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Pad change pending and then she's on her way out.
